BNG surgery

This surgery is an opportunity to drop in with your questions, concerns and ideas and we'll generate some discussion to get some answers.  

Biodiversity Net Gain has the potential to generate significant income for farmers to create new habitats on part of their land.  It will be one of the opportunities for revenue generation in the Landscape Recovery project and the Windrush Floodplain Meadow restoration plans.  There are plenty of questions already being considered,

- what is the price of a biodiversity unit (and thus the income/ha)?

- what are the implications on APR and inheritance tax?

- how effective is the framework for restoring biodiversity?

- who is the 'Responsible Body' and the registry?

- what is the size of the BNG market?

- where can BNG projects occur?

and much more...

We have invited some key stakeholders at the sharp end of the market from BBOWT (Bucks, Berks, Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust), TOE (the Trust for Oxfordshire's Environment), Oxford University's Leverhulme Centre, and the Oxfordshire LNP (Local Nature Partnership) to begin navigateing some of these questions so our cluster members can hit the ground running with the excellent pipeline of investible projects.

Some of our braver cluster members including Cornwell, Pudlicote, Bruern and Dunthrop, have already conducted their own investigations with BNG and as such many of your queries are already being considered locally.
