Cluster Governance

The Cluster’s governance model is designed to help Cluster decision-making and ensure the facilitators, consultants and individual members can effectively shape the work of the Cluster. 

 

NECFC is registered as a Community Interest Company. It has 3 non-executive directors, who are all farmers, and who take decisions collectively. It has two independent facilitators.

The Cluster’s Steering Group represents and reports to the wider membership and acts as the connector between Directors, Facilitators and Members. The Directors and Steering Group both meet approximately four times a year, review strategic decisions, advise on operational decisions where necessary and act as a sounding board. Directors are nominated and endorsed by NECFC members at the AGM. Steering Group members may be nominated and accepted at any point through the year. Length of service by the Directors and by each member of the Steering Group is not specified. All Cluster members are encouraged to consider serving on the Steering Group for a period.
