About the Event

Join us to see cluster member James Allen's grazing set-up.  One half of the Heritage Graziers, James will speak on all manor of grazing techniques, but particularly the role of regenerative grazing in building soil health, and conservation grazing to increase wildlife.

For conservation grazing James has employed Nofence technology, which will be on show on the farm walk and has been a game-changer at the expansive SSSI site where his heritage breeds are increasing floral and insect diversity.

James holds grazing in a number of farms, so can speak about the many consdirations to manage or host a flying herd of beef cattle.

This will be a facinating farm walk as we all consdier the importance of grazing livestock in regenerative agriculture, conservation in the Cotswolds, ELMs schemes and Landscape Recovery... be it in floodplain meadows, cover crops, calcarious grasslands or fertility building leys.

It may be tempting to follow the walk and talk with further conversationover lunch in the pub afterwards, for those wanting a pie and a pint.

Given the exposed nature of the site on the top of the Cotswold escarpment, if the weather looks dredful we'll postpone the week before.
