About the Event

Following the successful completion of bird feeding and surveys across 33 cluster farms, we will convene to discuss lessons learnt.  Bird feed plots at Priory Farm should be just emerging, and we'll hear anecdotes of where birds flocked across the farm through the winter.

Join the Izods for a walk of their newly established AB9 winter bird feeding plots.  What varieties work in your soils?  What habitats attract birds on your farm?  The greatest surprise at Priory Farm was the living mulch of white clover that was like a magnet to the farmland birds, has anyone else found this?  We will discuss last season's monitoring results and anecdotes from around the cluster.

Enjoy the high standards of farm tour hospitality at Priory Farm, including a tipple and snacks.  Our attention will turn to planning next season's bird feed mix, so we would also like to finalising seed sourcing (who's growing what) and refine the distribution and logistics to make it easier for all.  So come along if you have grains or seeds that could be sold into the mix.
