Grains: 2022 crop and beyond
An excellent opportunity to consider the route of your cereal crop to market. Discuss the options for different categories of grain and follow the path through our region's own multi-generation milling operation, Matthews Mill. Lunch included.
Time & Location
09 Dec 2022, 10:30 – 15:00
FarmED followed by Matthews Mill, Station Rd, Shipton-under-Wychwood, Chipping Norton OX7 6BJ, UK
About the Event
Arrive for coffee & tea, and discussion amongst arable farms from within the cluster sharing their approaches to grain production and markets, both now and in the future. Explore the more traditional routes to market with traders, contracts, and organic certification... versus the arising movement of 'heritage' varieties, 'regenerative' labels and local supply chains.
The event includes a lunch to share bread and celebrate the grains in discussion.
Tours of Matthews Mill and FarmED's cropping rotation will continue in the afternoon and allow more exploration of the themes discussed.
