Time & Location

09 Dec 2022, 10:30 – 15:30

FarmED followed by Matthews Mill, Station Rd, Shipton-under-Wychwood, Chipping Norton OX7 6BJ, UK

About the Event

Arrive for coffee & tea, and discussion amongst arable farms from within the cluster sharing their approaches to grain production and markets, both now and in the future.  Explore the more traditional routes to market with traders, contracts, and organic certification... versus the arising movement of 'heritage' varieties, 'regenerative' labels and local supply chains.

We will hear perspectives from:

  • Colin Woodward of Great Tew Estates,
  • Ian Wilkinson of FarmED,
  • Bertie Matthews of Matthews Mill,
  • Charlie Ireland of Ceres

and other contributions from acrss the spectrum of our cluster's grain producers.  Alas, I am afraid Andy Cato is now no longer able to join the event.

Tours of Matthews Mill and FarmED's cropping rotation will continue in the afternoon and allow more exploration of the themes discussed.

The event includes a lunch to share bread and celebrate the grains in discussion; however we ask those attending that are not farm members (i.e. signed the Defra CSFF membership form) or attached to the SBI of the member for a £30 ticket price (we can invoice you), as we can't claim your attendance through the CSFF.
