About the Event
Nigel Adams will present his fascinating and informative talk on hedgerows, their history and management... but also how it fits into farm systems. He has been involved in the SFI Hedgerow Standard that is to be released next year.
We will then pause for a bacon sandwhich and coffee, before heading out on a farm walk at Glebe Farm. Robert Crocker has spent more than 20 years restoring the traiditonal lines, laying and connecting hedgerows to create a lattice of habitat throughout his 400+ acre mixed farming system.
Whether your objectives are farm productivity, wildlife conservation or climate change mitigation - hedges are intrinsic to them all. Good practical advice from Nigel and inspiration from Robert will help our cluster consider how hedgerows are managed to optimise their value.
