Pudlicote

BIODIVERSITY NET GAIN

The Pudlicote project is the brainchild of local landowner Bradley Wickens and is an ambitious scheme to revert 30ha of former arable land on the floodplain to a more natural 35ha habitat mosaic including wetlands, floodplain meadows, riparian scrub and woodland. The project has also restored nearly 1km of the River Evenlode. Delivery has been undertaken in a series of stages since 2018 and is now nearing completion. The scheme is a first of a kind with resulting habitats linked to a site specific ‘habitat bank’ to be funded by Biodiversity Net Gain credits.
