Source protection - the limestone outcrops around the edges of the Evenlode catchment give rise to numerous spring sources that are a typical feature of many farms across the cluster. As part of the LR we are identifying where these springs are and how we can use the water they provide for habitat creation. Historically these spring sources have been directed straight into the river. We are designing schemes that use this water before it arrives in the river, slowing the flow and creating floodplain habitats while we do.
