Multi-threaded river systems
Later this summer, we will be completing our second Stage 0 scheme in the Evenlode catchment, taking the River Glyme out of its channel and across its floodplain at Hordley Meadows on the Blenheim Estate. We have been able to identify the historic route of the river and have been working to restore it. This summer we will be connecting our newly formed channel to the existing river. We will also be placing a significant amount of wood in the existing channel to make the river spill more frequently, helping to develop the multi-threaded river systems and natural floodplain functions to help strip nutrients and sediment from the water.
