Wet Weather? Time to Take a Look at Your Farmyard
As the wetter months set in, now is a good time to take a look at where rainwater might be picking up muck and making its way into drains or ditches. It's also an ideal opportunity to start planning ahead for next year's Capital Grants.
Planning ahead for Capital Grants
Several grant items, including hardcore tracks, concrete yards, rainwater harvesting tanks and roofing, require Catchment Sensitive Farming (CSF) support before you can apply.
Getting this support in place early can make all the difference. Farms that had their CSF support letters arranged well in advance were ready to submit applications as soon as the previous funding round opened.
With demand for Capital Grants often high, it's worth considering what improvements your farm might need and seeking advice well ahead of the next application window.
Free advice from our CSF team
Our in-house Catchment Sensitive Farming advisers can offer free, confidential farm visits to help identify potential improvements and prepare for the next round of Capital Grants.
Whether you're considering changes to farmyard infrastructure, rainwater management or other measures to reduce agricultural runoff, the team can help you understand your options and any CSF support requirements.
