100 Together Event Showcases Nature Recovery Investment Opportunities within Evenlode Landscape Recovery

Earlier this week, we were delighted to host a 100 Together event in partnership with Oxfordshire County Council, bringing together representatives from finance, government, business, and environmental organisations to explore how investment can accelerate nature recovery and climate action across the county.

100 Together Oxfordshire is a county-wide initiative led by Oxfordshire County Council, designed to unlock investment for environmental and climate projects by connecting investors with high-impact local opportunities. The programme provides a platform for collaboration, enabling organisations to work together to scale solutions that support both environmental resilience and sustainable economic growth.

As part of the event, attendees visited the Cornwell Estate, to see a wetland restoration site that was originally delivered by the Evenlode Catchment Partnership. The estate is now one of more than 50 farms participating in the Evenlode Landscape Recovery (ELR) project. Hosted by estate owner Alex Ward, the visit provided a valuable opportunity to see first-hand the wetland restoration work already underway and to understand how landscape-scale environmental projects can deliver tangible benefits for both nature and local communities.

The Evenlode Landscape Recovery project is one of the first investable opportunities featured within the Oxon Green Futures prospectus, focusing on nature recovery and biodiversity net gain. The project is already demonstrating how innovative financing models can support environmental outcomes at scale. To date, ELR has secured more than £3 million in funding from infrastructure partners including Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks, Network Rail, and Oxfordshire County Council to deliver natural flood management measures that help protect roads, railways, and energy infrastructure across the region.

As an example of a successful blended-finance approach, ELR illustrates the type of investment-ready project that 100 Together Oxfordshire seeks to champion. By combining public and private sector funding, the initiative is helping to create practical pathways for investment in natural capital, supporting markets for carbon sequestration, biodiversity enhancement, water quality improvements, and flood resilience.

Throughout the morning, participants engaged in discussions around the growing opportunities within natural capital investment and explored how investors can be connected with local net-zero and nature recovery projects. Conversations focused on the challenges and opportunities involved in scaling investment across Oxfordshire and the role that collaborative partnerships will play in delivering long-term environmental impact.
