Farming is changing and it can feel hard to keep up.
We're proud to be working with The Royal Countryside Fund (RCF) to deliver the Farm Resilience Programme and support family farms in our area.
The RCF's Farm Resilience Programme started in 2016 with the whole farm and whole family in mind. It supports farms facing increasing volatility around prices, policy change, weather, and declining support payments. It’s designed to provide practical, independent support to help farms step back, review options, and plan with confidence.
What’s involved?
Three in-person workshops:
Understanding the changing farming landscape - led by Ceres Rural
Reviewing business and environmental options - led by Andersons
Developing a simple one-page business plan - led by Promar International
Business Health Check Tool (optional but strongly encouraged) A farmer-friendly way to break the business into enterprises, understand where money is made or lost, and identify priorities. It uses information already in farm accounts (e.g. accounts, tax returns, livestock numbers). Figures don’t need to be perfect - the value is in insight, not detail. Each farm receives a confidential individual report and optional follow-up support.
Key points
Free to take part
Minimal details needed to sign up
Particularly well suited to family-owned livestock farms, but open to others
We're not telling you how to farm. We'll work with you to highlight what options are available so you can feel confident planning your farm's future.

The Farm Resilience Programme is made possible thanks to funding from Aldi, Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, Hilton Foods, Morrisons, Rothschild Foundation and Waitrose.
